The Poisoned 06: Strike Freedom ver MB (Dragon Momoko)

Now that you guys saw what Daban Model has to offer in their Strike Freedom in Metal Build design, let's take a look in Dragon Momoko's kit.

Here are the pictures of the sprues or runners inside the kit. One thing I checked quickly are the gates connected in the parts. They are not as bad as Daban Model placing them in the middle of a part, but most of these gates are on the edge.

Another thing I noticed here is that the Wings of the Skies shown a few days before that looks exactly from Bandai's version isn't included here. I could be wrong that the item wasn't added here. I also think that the Wings of the Skies meant for SF is part of a separate purchase. I hope not and we will soon find out once it hits the market. My client already pre-ordered the kit so I will be having a review for this kit. I might post this one earlier than the pending finished articles I already have. You could say that it's like a "featured" post here in my blog.

Anyways, you be the judge once you take a look at the images.

  1. I am just thinking that..daban has already beat down dragon momoko with their gold frame and color separation..but ive got an information that daban will include wing of light in 2nd bath..so unfortunately that dragon momoko did not show their full effort to make strike freedom ,they just giving tons of accesories but nothing with detail than daban.they could be better..so unfortunate

    1. agree sir Dhafin. The parts separation for Daban Model's SF ver MB is really superb. The only issue about it are gates. It seems Daban didn't use any undergate treatments. I will go for Daban actually and I might be able to post a review for both brands. But I still need a solid intel regarding Wings of the Skies for Daban Model's SF ver MB.

You can check the kit's contents of Daban Model if you haven't seen it yet - http://madjesh.blogspot.com/2016/12/the-poisoned-01-strike-freedom-mb-daban.html

    2. From beginning i was hoping too much for DM but after all of this..meeeh..my hope was lost to DM, from their previous product like destiny, akatsuki, strike they did a good job..but this..they looklike just selling the accesories rather than quality itself. I felt that DM has already lie to mich to all of us for their prokotional images..the promotional image look like promising but now this is the final product that weo dont want it to be. Okay well..when the full review coming? Ill wait for yours review

    3. Yeah. It was lame for DM to make such move specially for the Strike Freedom knowing it is a popular MS among enthusiasts. Think about this - even if DM is just trying to avoid the ugly nub marks for not picking the gold coating like Daban, then why they didn't chose the same treatment like what they did to Akatsuki instead? I have a review about akatsuki and at least 80% of the parts were undergated. These supposed to be less of an issue in SF because the gold parts are parts for the inner frame. Meaning most of these parts will not be visible.

Anyways, It's possible I will have the review of DM once I receive my client's order here in Philippines. I'm still short of funds and I'm looking forward to Daban's kit myself.

  2. Okay..if DM want to avoiding the nubmark and using current gold frame its okay for once, that doesnt bother me too much, but it doesnt mean that DM must to downgrade their product..what bothering me is their detail..DM Strike freedom has a lack of detail..if i am being DM ceo or something like that..i will make same mold detail as daban or metal build itself and its okay if we using ordinary pee gold, but we must to upgrade or make the detail better than daban or metal build itself..

    1. More detailing via parts separation right? If you noticed the arms in Daban. It has more parts that makes it look nice. While DM only shows a white part where with no other extra parts to put in.

I will add this issue to my review

  3. Just paint the DM kit for color separation. Both will look identical once done.

DM has better plastic than Daban so that would be my choice. Plus with the bonus accessories for destiny and strike freedom included. Was an easy choice.

    1. I will include that pointer in my review. As of now, daban has lead. If painting should be done, then it will take some masking as well.

For straight builders such as myself, it will be Daban Model for the best pick when it comes to parts separation. The plastic quality of Daban isn't that bad either. And probably they [some straight builders] would only pick DM not because they can paint it but because of the extras included or offered by DM.

  4. I already pre-ordered this and I hadn't seen the Daban version. But now I'm tempted to just get the Daban version as well, whilst I do plan to paint my kits at the moment I snap build, also the Daban panel lines look deeper and more crisp to me, I don't know if that's just me or not but it's such a hard decision, I love Dragon Momoko's products it's just a shame they fell short with the amount of part separation they have otherwise they'd be the clear winner!

  5. Also to add to my previous comment, can you use the Dragon Momoko wings of light on the Daban model? that would interesting to know!

    1. That's what we other builders discussed - if the Wings of Light from Momoko would fit. But! Daban has their own Wings of Light giving them another plus for their kit. It was said that the second batch for Daban Model will have the Wol. On the other hand, the 2nd batches for DM SF's WoL will be a separate purchase as rumors claim.

As to your first comment, yeah I do agree that Daban managed to up their features by giving not just good parts separation but also good detailing. The setback for Daban will be the nubs because they are gold plated. But to hell with nub marks! I will grab both! LOL

By the way, if you noticed the images where a certain part is compared to the runners like the thigh, arms? The built one is Daban Model.

And here's the Daban Model if you haven't seen it yet.

  9. To any of you who are now viewing this article, I would like to inform you guys that Dragon Momoko's Wings of Light can be attached to Daban Model. And it's now confirmed that the WoL of Daban will be INCLUDED IN THE KIT of their 2nd batches.

Thanks to my co-builders, colleagues, and friends who shared a lot of news about this kit. Credits goes to them. :)

    3. The pic from our facebook group isn't removed but I can't find it due to a lot of posts that pulled it on the bottom. XD

But I am certain he's not joking around when he posted that image showing the effects of Momoko attached to the wings of Daban.

    1. Hey calm down mate :)
As far as I know, Dragon Momoko planned their WoL to be a separate purchase. And if this is true, the next kits [SF ver MB] of Momoko will have that wobbly plastic as WoL and not the one with the original MB design.

This means you can purchase Momoko's WoL without the need to get the whole kit/unit as well. I mentioned in the comment above that Dragon Momoko's WoL fits just fine on Daban. I am just a witness though, but I have seen the picture.

    4. Hello Brian,
You could sand the male pegs before trying to fit them. Do not force them to fit. If you feel like they are still tight, sand it again. also check the male pegs if they have "hollow" spaces inside on just above the root. If there are hollow spaces, then trimming the female peg would be best to avoid breakage of the male peg.

And do not sand the gold plated parts.

On my side, I do like a little tight or stiff movement. Because after some time, it will loosen up from too much posing here and there (I usually change pose when I need to open new spaces on my shelf or when I bring them on meet-ups with friends/co-builders)

  12. i already finished building except the weaponry and i follow your advice and it works but i forgot to sand the connector of waist and leg part and its to tight but u doesnt concern to me so its ok haha..my thougths of this kit? i give it 90% because of color separation, the quality of plastics is ok, the gold frame is stunning.next time ill build dm version to have an comparison to daban. and this kit belongs to my son haha

    1. 1st batch don't have WoL. Daban Model released the kits early to gain some market versus Momoko while the WoL isn't finished yet.
2nd batch will have the WoL inside the kit and not like Dragon Momoko where the 2nd batch will have a separate purchase strategy.

This info was shared by Gundam Central (well it was an screenshot of their convo XD )

  14. To any of my readers,
I would like to apologize for late updates of my reviews. The review for Wing Zero Custom (TTH) should've been posted last week but I was very busy back then with work> I am also busy trying to finish a kit sent by my client.

  15. Hi Madjesh, any update on you DM SF build? I'm so confused on how DM market this kits. Does thi kit includes everthing ie: WOL, braces for wall (not sure what it's called), WOL for Destiny? I've been researching about DM kits for quite a while now. The reason i want the DM SF is because i read a lot of good reviews on this kits but too confused with the items included on it. Would you mind to give me a link of your review for DM SF? Actually i'm planning to buy this and the 2 DM Destiny so before i put on my wallet i have to make sure what i get.

Thanks a lot! Any suggestion where to get the kit? Divi? I'll check on your SF Daban review later on. What i like with the Daban version is the details, colour sep but i'm to anxious with the build quality etc as i read a few bad reviews for the Daban SF. I still have time to decide though. Hahah

    Thanks again!

    1. Sorry I still don't have the article ready because of a lot of things to do on my side.
      Now for your questions..
First is that most Online Sellers give this as a bundle or a package - means the WoL should be included. I heard rumors that some stores in Divi give this as a "separate purchase" item. I don;t have a solid info where to get a good deal and I am not allowed to promote any of these stores on my blog because I don't want any issues about it.

Second about DM SF ver MB, it's a good solid kit. Of course there were few issues when I built the kit but these issues where just tight parts on the Inner Frame. The Outer Armor doesn't have any snap fitting issues. That's all I can share for now.

  16. Daban SF mb is compatible with dragon momoko wing of light??

  17. To that recent "Anonymous" commentator:

I have a really sluggish net connection right now so I can't reply directly to give you a notif in your emial. I hope you will be able read this.

The DM WOL effects are compatible to Daban's SF. And Daban's WOL is also compatible to DM's SF.
Well, these were the infos I got after both kits were just released.

    1. As a straight builder, I'd go with Daban. You will suffer a bit from the visible nub marks but it's better compared to the dull yellow color of DM. Plus, Daban features more parts separation.
